WHAT IS HYPNOSIS? DO YOU LOSE CONSCIOUSNESS OR GO TO SLEEP?
Hypnosis is the creative use of the natural and normal trance state to accomplish a desired change in thoughts, feelings, and/or behaviors. You are in the natural and normal trance state everyday anyway, but you normally are not utilizing it for any constructive purpose. You might be in this state first thing in the morning when you are not really awake & yet you are not really asleep. You might be in this state driving on the interstate when you miss your exit, or you might be in this state staring at the T.V., wondering why you are watching some stupid show.
WHAT DETERMINES HOW SUGGESTIBLE SOMEONE HAPPENS TO BE?
Does that make any difference in the effectiveness of the hypnotherapy? The ease with which you can shift functioniong from your analytical "left brain" to your imaginative "right brain" probably has some bearing on suggestibility. The "right brain" is the part of the brain that does the hypnosis. It is the gateway to the emotions and to the subconsious.mind. Accessing the emotions & the subconscious increases suggestibility. If you are a strong left brain person, you can rapidly learn the technique of ignoring your left brain, and become just as open to desired hypnotic suggestions as a strong "right brain" person.
CAN ANYONE NOT BE HYPNOTIZED?
People who are generally (but not always) addicted to hard drugs; People who suffer dementia because of severe strokes, other trauma, or Alzeimer's can't be hypnotized. Persons who are intoxicated can't be hypnotized. Actively psychotic persons can't be hypnotized. If you don't have any of these problems, you CAN be hypnotized. If you are recovering from alcohol or drug addiction, or if you have recovered from a stroke, you can be hypnotized. If you intermittently abuse drugs or alcohol, you can be hypnotized.
ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE EASILY HYPNOTIZED WEAK WILLED?
Absolutely not. Strength of will has nothing to do with it.
DOES INTELLIGENCE HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH WHETHER OR NOT A PERSON CAN BE HYPNOTIZED?
Absolutely not, with the exception that the severely mentally challenged can't be hypnotized.
CAN CHILDREN BE HYPNOTIZED?
Children & Adolescents are excellent hypnotic subjects. I have worked with quite of number of children over the age of five.
DO YOU LOSE CONTROL UNDER HYPNOSIS?
You are in control at all times, but in an easy relaxed way. Nothing happens without your permission & consent, and nothing happens without the permission & consent of your subconscious mind.;
CAN YOU BE MADE TO DO ANYTHING THAT CONTRADICTS YOUR VALUES AND MORALS?
Absolutely not. Nothing happens against your will.
ARE THERE ANY PROBLEMS WITH A PERSON NOT COMING OUT OF A TRANCE?
You can bring the trance to an end anytime you want. You will either return to normal consciousness, or you will go to sleep if you so desire.
IS INDIVIDUAL HYPNOSIS BETTER THAN ONE OF THOSE LARGE GROUPS?
Though large groups can help some psople stop smoking or lose weight, often they are not as effective because there is little or no "pre-talk" to debunk hypnosis myths or to explain how and why hypnosis works (which makes it more likely to work) Hypnosis can not be customized in a large group like it can be individually. The large group is like going into a shoe store that has only one size shoe. It will fit some people, but not many others.
CAN I GET A SMALL GROUP TOGETHER FOR HYPNOSIS? WILL IT SAVE ME MONEY?

WILL INSURANCE COVER HYPNOSIS?
Jim Wilson, M.A. is a certified psychologist as well as a certified hypnotherapist. Insurance will sometimes cover treatment if Mr. Wilson is a member of the insurance panel. Insurance will NOT cover hypnosis to stop smoking or lose weight. It will not cover sports hyposis to improve athletic performance. It will NOT cover self-improvement to boost confidence or self-esteem. Check with Jim to see whether or not insurance covers services.

WILL I GAIN WEIGHT IF I STOP SMOKING WITH HYPNOSIS?
I provide a number of suggestions to change what & how you eat, reducing quantity, fatty foods, sweet foods, and "bad carbs." Excercise is necessary not only to boost your metabolism after you quit smoking, and burn off carbs & fat, but also to make you feel great mentally and emotionallty, pumping all those good brain chemicals, and so move you even further away from "Smoker's Road."
CAN I COMBINE STOP SMOKING WITH WEIGHT LOSS HYPNOSIS?
If you only want to drop 20 pounds, & not gain weight, I can combine hypnosis for Stop Smoking with Weight Loss Hypnosis. I you want to lose more weight than that, ,a seperate session is needed.
WHAT IS THE FEE FOR THE SERVICES?
The fee for a 1+1/2 hour session is $195.00 which includes a recording of the session.If insurance covers any services, the fee depends on your deductible and co-pay, & can range anywhere from $10.00 to $125.00
HOW CAN YOU ACCOMPLISH WEIGHT LOSS OR STOP SMOKING IN ONE SESSION?
A wide variety of proven effective suggestions gets the job done. Also, I coach you in easy and simple self-hypnosis techniques which you can utilize during the day to reinforce the hypnosis. Also, you can play the recording of the session to reinforce the changes you have made.
WILL I NEED MORE THAN ONE SESSION?
Typically, hypnosis to stop smoking or lose weight does not require more than one session..I guarantee what I do in that if for ANY reason you feel that you need an additional sesion, I will offer it to you for less than half-price ($80.00). If you have complex emotional problems, or severe and difficult problems that perhaps stem from a a difficult childhood, it is likely that more than one session will be necessary. Depending on the severity of the problem, you might need up to six sessions. If you haen't had a difficult childhood or relationship trauma, most problems will not require more than three sessions for resolution.
WHAT IF IT DOESN'T WORK?
The hypnosis will work, but it is possible that you might need to do the self-hypnosis regularly and/or play the recording occasionally for maximum effectiveness. I make a "good faith" effort like any other professional to achieve the results that you desire. I also assume that you take a responsible attitude toward this process, as well. Responsibility always improves the likelhood of success.
WHAT ARE SOME THINGS WHICH INCREASE THE LIKELHOOD OF SUCCESS?
If you are "sick and tired" of being "sick and tired" of the problem that plagues you, hypnosis is very likely te be quite effective in making the changes you desire happen. If you just want to "try" the hypnosis or "give it a shot" for fun, but have not really made a decision to resolve the problem, hypnosis might not work for you. Often we "enjoy" holding on to our unhappy or toxic pattern too much, and must get "sick and tired before we can do anything about it.
